aly & tim’s intimate, vintage beach wedding {clearwater beach wedding photography}

i met aly & tim through channing, right around halloween last year. they were already planning their wedding at that point, and insisted that it was too small for me to even consider photographing. over the past year, these two have become so of our best friends (come on, look that those faces up there…how could you not love them?), and through a few twists of fate i did end up shooting their wedding day. it wasn’t a very ‘traditional’ wedding – a friend officiated, they did a first look & all of the portraits before the ceremony, the guest list was super teeny, and everything was diy-ed by aly, tim & their friends and family – but it was wonderfully personal to who they are, and it was such a blast to get to be there and capture it for them.

candid bridal portraits are so much easier when the groom is willing to be ridiculous to make her laugh.

aly made her own bouquet! talented much??

i’d like to take a moment to point out that tim’s shirt might seem like it isn’t quite the right shade of blue for their color scheme. that’s because it’s not his shirt. it wouldn’t be a wedding if something didn’t go wrong, like, say, the groom forgetting his shirt at home, right? luckily enough, the waiters in the restaurant where the reception was going to be happen to wear blue button down shirts, and one of the managers went above and beyond and found a spare shirt for tim. i think aly was just glad that he didn’t show up wearing a hawaiian shirt from the gift shop instead.

i think anyone who know aly & tim would say that those two photos (jazz hands!) perfectly depict them, and their relationship.

aly’s grandma had the most fantastic, glittery shoes. <3

that little seashell with the whiskers is their cat, alice. she’s the prettiest princess ever, even in seashell form.

 thanks again aly & tim…you guys know how much i love having you as friends! let’s hang out soon. 🙂
