just a quick note!

hi there, 2012! i’ve been very busy all month so far, and february isn’t looking any emptier. i have some posts lined up for the blog, but they won’t be here for a few days at least, because i finally decided to upgrade my website/blog/everything to a ProPhoto blogsite. installation should be happening some time this week, and then i can get everything set up to look just how i want it to. then blog posts can resume, with larger images, which i’m really stoked about! so if anything looks funky here or over at emilyrgilbert.com, don’t worry, it’ll be back to normal soon!

just so this post isn’t totally devoid of something interesting to look at, please enjoy this gorgeous chaise lounge a friend was getting rid of:

preview: a. family {walt disney world family photographer}

i know i haven’t blogged in quite a while, but a new venture of mine has been taking up quite a bit of my time. no excuse, i know, but i hope that this preview of an extremely adorable wdw family session is enough to distract any readers.

the a. family’s full post will be up soon here on the blog! also, in case i don’t make it back to the blog before 2012 (!) starts, happy holidays and new year!

jenn & doug {winter park engagement photographer}

jenn and doug are just about the cutest couple i’ve ever seen. i know that it can be hard to be “cutesy” in front of someone who is pretty much a stranger, and it can be even harder to open up when that almost-stranger is pointing a camera at you, but it was very easy to see how in love these two are without me having to pose them or really direct them at all. we wandered around rollins college in winter park, where i’ve wanted to shoot forever, and managed to find lots of cute spots and tons of gorgeous golden light. october, you’re my best friend.

telling people to be serious still produces some of my favorite faces. try it some time.

thanks again, jenn and doug, for coming out to rollins and wandering around with me.

Hey, great article! As a photographer in family portraits, in the San Francisco bay area, I will use some of this in my work. Thank you!
